In winter 2019 I organized a Give Away on Instagram. Following my instructions a lucky couple won an engagement photo session. The winners were Joan and Evan.
Due to bad weather and the pandemic we rescheduled the session for a warm and safe period. In June, the couple felt comfortable enough to go outside and take pictures with me.
They decide to go to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre near Denver CO and by the creek near this location.
After talking to each other for a few weeks on Bumble, Evan and Joan met on December 6, 2018 at their local brewery, Grist Brewing Company. This happened right before Joan was about to move to Fraser, Colorado for work. The date didn’t last long since Evan had to work the next morning. But Joan left a lasting impression on Evan by paying for their beers in what Evan now calls “a power move”.
After moving to the mountains, Joan realized that Evan was special, and they made their relationship official. Over the course of the next six months, the couple traveled back and forth each weekend to see one another in Denver and in the mountains. They decided to move in together in July of 2019.
During a family ski trip in Killington, Vermont, Evan proposed to Joan at Long Trail Brewing Company on March 14, 2020. Reflective of their relationship, the proposal weekend was filled with skiing, breweries, and fun with family and friends. The couple now enjoys going to breweries together, skiing, travelling, and snuggling with their cat Obi.
The couple will be getting married on September 4, 2021. Their fun-filled wedding weekend will commence with a bouquet making party at a local florist.
Joan and Evan will then host their wedding the next day at Red Rocks for their Ceremony and they will bus their guests downtown for their Reception at Rhein Haus, a bavarian-inspired biergarten.
Because the bride is in the sustainability industry, she has been incorporating many thrifted items for decor, and will be wearing two vintage looks from Happy Isles Salon in Los Angeles.
