“Bridal portraits are photos taken several months before the wedding. The brides wear their dresses for a solo photoshoot in a location of their choice. The bride can gift printed portraits to her parents and/or spouse or even display them as décor at the reception.” – Bride.com
“Sure, bridal portraits are yet another add-on, but brides and photographers swear by them for a number of reasons. At the same time, a separate photo session gives you the flexibility to have fun and be creative” – brides.com
As a wedding photographer I have many years of experience in bridal portraits sessions. In Italy it usually happens during the wedding day. The ability of the photographer makes the difference. In a few minutes I can take amazing portraits but, for the brides, could be very stressful because it happens just minutes before they go to the ceremony. Sometimes the various delays during the day don’t allow enough time to do it .
Bridal portraits can be taken one to two months before the wedding: this is around when hair and makeup trials happen. But they can be taken also after the wedding. Some brides realize only after the wedding the importance of these portraits. Sometimes they realize when they receive the wedding photos. Those few minutes of portraits after the getting ready are not enough. It is such an important moment of life and the bride’s beauty, that gorgeous dress and the feeling wearing it deserve to be immortalized !
It’s going to be three hours of personal celebration… Hair and makeup done like the wedding day and a shooting in a beautiful location of her choice. This is a gift that every bride deserves!
