As a photographer specializing in Senior Photos Denver, one of the first things I hear from senior girls is:
“I don’t know how to pose.”
Almost every time, their mom smiles and says,
“That’s funny… she takes photos with her friends all the time.”
The truth is, most girls do know how to pose. They’re comfortable with iPhones, selfies, and being in front of the camera with their friends.
But when it comes to Senior Photos in Denver, everything suddenly feels different.
There’s more intention, more attention—and that’s when the pressure can take over and confidence fades.
And that’s completely normal.

What I always tell them is simple:
you don’t need to know how to pose—that’s my job.
When it comes to Senior Photos Denver, my approach is natural and relaxed. I don’t believe in stiff or forced poses. Instead, I gently guide each senior with easy direction and a few simple ideas that highlight their natural beauty.
Nothing complicated—just small movements, soft expressions, and real moments.
We might walk, twirl, adjust a jacket, or play with the light…
and before they realize it, it no longer feels like posing.
It just feels like being themselves.
One of my favorite parts of creating Senior Photos Denver is showing them the images as we go.
It changes everything.
When they see how beautiful they look on camera, something shifts:
they relax, they trust the process, and they start to enjoy it.
Sometimes they’ll say,
“Wait, can I fix my hair a little?”
or
“I want to adjust my dress like this.”
And I love that—because it becomes a collaboration.
We’re not just taking photos, we’re creating something together.

By the middle of the session, the energy is completely different.
They’re laughing. Moving. Suggesting ideas.
Sometimes even forgetting the camera is there.
What started as “I’m nervous” turns into:
“That was actually so fun.”
And that’s always my goal.

Confidence also comes from feeling comfortable in what they’re wearing.
I always suggest bringing:
One casual outfit (something that feels like their everyday self)
One more elegant or dressed-up look
Something connected to their hobbies or personality
This gives variety, but more importantly, it helps them feel like themselves.
And when they feel like themselves, everything becomes easier.
At the end of the day, this experience isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about creating a space where your daughter can feel seen, relaxed, and confident.
And when that happens, the photos naturally follow 🤍

Hi, I’m Laura, a photographer specializing in Senior Photos Denver. I’ve been behind the camera for over 14 years, starting my journey in Italy before bringing my work to Denver.
I love creating a relaxed experience where seniors can feel comfortable and confident, without pressure or overthinking. My style is simple, natural, and focused on capturing real moments.
Outside of photography, I enjoy slow mornings, cooking, and spending time with my family. Those everyday moments inspire the way I connect with my clients and the way I see beauty in each person I photograph.
